I visited Croatia, where much of the cuisine is inspired by the Adriatic Sea. The water is so clear you can see straight to the bottom. The colors in this painting are my abstract interpretation of that sea, a vital source of life and food. Its purity allows for the freshest ingredients to reach local restaurants, homes, and markets. Everything I ate felt so clean and wholesome. I later learned that the Adriatic is actually the cleanest and clearest sea in Europe.
